About
Mostly at the intersection of insurance, technology, and employee benefits. My last company, Limelight Health, was one of the early insurtech pioneers. We built it from scratch, raised nearly $44M. It was acquired by FINEOS in 2020. The seven year journey was transformational and humbling.
Now I'm running Navwise (decision intelligence for SMB benefits, think "Morningstar for group health"), built out Zoƫ Foundry's portfolio, advising several startups, helping Get Kasa grow and also owning two barbershops in Portland. It all connects if you squint.
When I'm not working, I'm probably on or in water, singing at a karaoke bar, or planning the next adventure with people I love. Portland is home base, but "home" is increasingly wherever the WiFi works and the weather doesn't require a parka.
What I am Building
Off the Clock
Car 539 is a Class 5 porsche engine powered race car, a ragtag crew, and a dream I have had to run the Baja peninsula for over 25 years.
Our first race was 247 miles of dust, blown alternators, cactus collisions, push-starts in the dark, and a license plate fabricated into a pulley wheel at mile 244. We didn't finish. We're going back.
